What does the Course Cover?

As well as covering a range of workplace hazards and methods of control, it includes international standards for safety and health management, like the International Labour Organisation codes of practice.

What does the Qualification Cover?

It covers the principles relating to health and safety, identification and control of workplace hazards, and the practical application of this knowledge. The IGC syllabus takes a risk-management approach based on best practice and international standards, such as the International Labour Organisation (ILO) codes of practice. Local laws and cultural factors may form part of the study programme, where relevant and appropriate. The qualification also features a practical workplace assessment.

How is the Course Assessed?

Candidates are assessed with Open Book online written examinations for unit one. The second unit is a practical workplace assessment to help you apply your learning at work and create value for your employer. To pass, 45% and above is required for IGC1. Results and certificates are released in 50 working days.

The course is divided into two units, each of which is assessed separately:

  • Management of International Health and Safety (IGC1)

  • Practical Risk Assessment (IGC2)

  • Element 4: Health and safety monitoring and measuring

Unit 2 – Practical Risk Assessment (IGC2):

  • Element 1: Physical and psychological health

  • Element 2: Musculoskeletal health

  • Element 3: Chemical and biological agents

  • Element 4: General workplace issues

  • Element 5: Work equipment

  • Element 6: Electricity

  • Element 7: Fire

Course Duration

Classroom training runs from 9 am – 4 pm daily for 10 weeks. Online training runs for a minimum of 30 days and offers a very flexible learning plan for learners.

Course Fee

  • Classroom Training: ₦250,000.00 (two hundred and fifty thousand naira). You can pay in three installments. Course fee covers training, NEBOSH study materials, examination registration, invigilation registration fee, IG2 practical assessment support, tea break & lunch, and other related materials.

  • Online training: ₦200,000.00 (two hundred thousand naira). You can pay in two installments. Course fee covers training, NEBOSH study materials, examination registration, invigilation registration fee, IG2 practical assessment support.
